thanks so much for all your help :) what subway station in seoul is the university of seoul? do i need to buy a electric adapter for my electronics to work there (i'm from the US)? also, how hot does the weather get in the months of june/july in degrees F? is it really humid? thanks in advance and hope everything is going well for you there! by Anonymous
The subway station is Cheonyangni Station.It’s about a 10-15 min walk from the entrance of the university. There is a department store in the station, so you can go grocery shopping there as well!
You will need to buy a converter! Don’t get it there! it’s so much cheaper on ebay. I’m guessing you’re using it for your laptop? Most laptops can support 120-220 so you don’t need to buy a converter (which are kinda expensive) but rather an adapter. Go on ebay and type in “Universal World Wide Travel Charger Adapter Plug” it worked perfectly for my laptop!
I got to Seoul in August, and it was insanely hot. I guess it also depends on where in the US you live. I’m from Michigan and pretty much a winter girl so the weather seemed crazy to me. It does get really humid! You’ll need to take like 3 showers a day. But again this is August, maybe it’s different in June/July!

hello :) i'm planning to go to seoul this summer (for a summer program with uos) inshallah. as a muslim, do you have any advice on the food situation (were you able to find vegitarian or other halal food at most resturants)? also, i heard there is a real stigma against people who don't drink or refuse to drinks in korea? is this true? did you exprience anything like that? i'm so glad to have stumbled across you blog! thanks in advance! by Anonymous
hey salaam! For food, I basically ate tuna for 2 months. There is a lot of tuna and veggies so you shouldn’t have too much trouble finding food. try the kimchi jiggae it’s delicious! If you tell people that you don’t drink because of religious reason, they are very understanding. if you have any other questions, feel free to email me! My schedule is a bit crazy right now, but inshAllah i’ll try to email you back asap. :) Have a great time at UOS! it’s a wonderful school and so beautiful <3 There’s a bunch of old people just chilling around campus, not exactly sure why, but they’re cute :)

I gave up. it’s 93% and I have this thing where I can’t watch it unless it’s completely subbed. oh well I get to see their adorable faces in the morning :D
